Abstract
An anomalus union of the jpancreaticobiliary duct is a rare finding in biliary tract anatomy. It has been defined as the junction between the choledochus and pancreatic duct outside of the duodenal wall and beyond the influence of the sphincter of Boyden. Clinically, the diagnosis of this anomaly is usually made on the basis of the length of the common channel seen on direct cholangiogram. This anomalous union has often been associated with choledochal cyst, biliary calculi, cholangitis, pancreatitis, and biliary malignancy. We experienced a cases of 22-year-old woman complaining of epigastric pain and vomiting. Abdominal CT scan and ERCP revealed acute negcrotizing pancreatitis associated with anomalous pncreaticobiliary union. We report this cases with a review of the related literatures.
